Elections Office Announcement of Canvassing Board Meetings and Logic and Accuracy Testing of Vote Tabulation Equipment for the Marco Island Referendum Election.

Pursuant to Florida Statutes 102.141(2), you are hereby advised that the Official Canvass of Absentee Ballots for the Tuesday, June 26, 2007 Marco Island Referendum Election will commence promptly as follows at the Supervisor of Elections Office, Collier County Government Complex, Building C2, 3301 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, Florida 34112:

Monday, June 18, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. L&A. Friday, June 22, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Election Day, Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. to Canvass Provisional Ballots (if any) and complete Final Certification.

If any Elector or Candidate present at the canvass of the absentee ballots believes any ballot is illegal due to any defect apparent on the voter’s certificate, he may file a protest against the canvass of such absentee ballot any time before the ballot is removed from the outer return envelope.

Any person who decides to appeal a decision of this board will need a record of the proceedings pertaining thereto, and therefore may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

The Logic and Accuracy Test of the Vote Tabulation Equipment for the Marco Island Referendum Election on June 26, 2007, will be held on Monday, June 18, 2007 at 10:00 am in the Office of the Supervisor of Elections, at the Collier County Government Center, Building C2, 3301 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, Florida.

Any person who decides to appeal the decision of this test will need a record of the proceedings pertaining thereto, and therefore may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

If you need special accommodations in order to attend these meetings because of disability, please notify this office.

Aviso de la Oficina de Elecciones sobre las reuniones de la Junta de Escrutinio y las pruebas de lógica y precisión de los equipos de tabulación de los votos para el referendo electoral de Marco Island.

Conforme al Estatuto 102.141(2) de la Florida, por el presente se avisa que el escrutinio oficial de las boletas para electores ausentes para la elección de referendo de Marco Island del martes 26 de junio del 2007 comenzará prontamente conforme a lo siguiente en la Oficina de la Supervisora de Elecciones, Collier County Government Complex, Building C2, 3301 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, Florida 34112:

el lunes 18 de junio del 2007 a las 10 a.m. L & A el viernes 22 de junio del 2007 a las 10 a.m. el lunes 25 de junio del 2007, a las 10 a.m. el día de las elecciones, martes 26 de junio del 2007 a las 10 a.m. y a las 7 p.m. el viernes 29 de junio del 2007 a las 5 p.m. para hacer el escrutinio de las boletas de provisionales y terminar la certificación final.

Si algún elector o candidato presente en el escrutinio de las boletas de electores ausentes cree que alguna boleta es ilegal debido a algún defecto aparente en el certificado del elector, puede someter una protesta acerca del escrutinio de dicha boleta de elector ausente antes de que se saque ésta del sobre externo de devolución.

Toda persona que decida apelar una decisión de esta junta tendrá que obtener las actas del proceso relativo a dicha decisión y, por lo tanto, es aconsejable que obtenga las actas tomadas al pie de la letra del proceso que incluyan tanto el testimonio como las pruebas en que se ha de basar la apelación.

La prueba de lógica y precisión del equipo de tabulación de los votos para la elección del referendo de Marco Island del 26 de junio del 2007 se efectuará el lunes 18 de junio del 2007 a las 10 a.m., en la Oficina de la Supervisora de Elecciones ubicada en el Collier County Government Center, Building C2, 3301 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, Florida.

Toda persona que decida apelar una decisión de esta junta tendrá que obtener las actas del proceso relativo a dicha decisión y, por lo tanto, es aconsejable que obtenga las actas al pie de la letra del proceso que incluyan tanto el testimonio como las pruebas en que se ha de basar la apelación.
