Collier County, Fla.—May 3, 2023: The Collier County Supervisor of Elections office began their 2023 list maintenance activities this week as required by Florida election law. Address confirmation requests were sent to 53,048 voters who have not had any activity with the elections office over the past two years including voting, requesting a Vote-by-Mail ballot or updating their voter registration information.
Voters who receive an address confirmation request are encouraged to respond to the notice by returning the completed and signed request confirming or updating their legal residence.
Voters who do not respond to the initial mailed request will receive a final notice. Voters who do not respond to the final notice will then become “inactive.” In accordance with Florida election law, voters who remain inactive after two federal general elections will be removed from the statewide voter registration system. Voters whose voter registration status is inactive can become active again by voting in future elections, requesting a Vote-by-Mail ballot or by updating their voter registration information.
