NEWS RELEASE: Deadline to Request an Absentee Ballot by Mail is Wednesday, May 6th

Naples, FL – Per section 101.62, Florida Statutes, the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot to be sent to a voter by mail is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

Voters requesting their Golden Gate Fire Control and Rescue District absentee ballot after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, will need to pick up the ballot at the Supervisor of Elections Office, Collier Government Center, 3301 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, or vote at their precinct on Election Day. Absentee ballots for pickup may be requested through Election Day by calling (239) 252-8450. Except for Election Day, processing time for pickups is normally one business day.

Voters are reminded that absentee ballots MUST reach the Supervisor of Elections Office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, May 12
th. Absentee ballots received after that time are considered late and will not be counted.
