Naples, FL – The Collier County Supervisor of Elections Office placed one of its ADA voting systems at Lighthouse of Collier’s new location today. Located at 457 Bayfront Place in Naples, Lighthouse of Collier, Inc. is a nonprofit, charitable corporation that provides services to the blind, visually impaired, and their caregivers. David Weigel, Lighthouse of Collier, Inc. president, invites visually impaired individuals to become more familiar with the ADA voting system by experiencing the process before the next election cycle.

According to Jennifer J. Edwards, Supervisor of Elections, through the use of a headset and audio ballot instructions, the ADA compliant voting units allow visually impaired individuals to select instructions in English or Spanish, make their selections (i.e. candidates and/or referendums), then vote independently when casting their ballot.
