Jennifer J. Edwards, Supervisor of Elections, to present award to PRHS on October 14
Collier County, Fla. - October 9, 2015: The results are in and with 193 voter registrations and pre-registrations received, Palmetto Ridge High School is the winner of the third annual High School Voter Registration Challenge.
The 12 high schools who participated in the challenge were: Barron Collier High School, Community School of Naples, Everglades City School, First Baptist Academy, Gulf Coast High School, Golden Gate High School, Immokalee High School, Lely High School, Lorenzo Walker Technical College, Palmetto Ridge High School, Seacrest Country Day School and Marco Island Academy, which received the highest percentage of pre-registered students.
The elections office received 850 registration applications collectively from all of the schools who participated, setting a new record for the challenge. Supervisor of Elections, Jennifer J. Edwards, will attend an award presentation at Palmetto Ridge High School on October 14 to congratulate students and staff for their outstanding achievement.
The Collier County Supervisor of Elections office continues to strengthen its partnerships with Collier County schools and looks forward to continuing this voter registration challenge in the future to engage students in the electoral process.
