Collier County, FL – On February 27, 2012, Senate Resolution 1296 was published in the Journal of the Senate recognizing Florida Election workers for their dedication and commitment. Senate Resolution 1296 reads as follows: ‘A resolution commending those who serve as Election Day officials at polling places throughout Florida for their outstanding service and dedication.’ The resolution is being sponsored by Senator Fasano of District 11 which consists of parts of Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, and Pinellas counties.
Collier County Supervisor of Elections, Jennifer J. Edwards, compliments all Election workers across the state and especially in Collier County who have committed to the process. Supervisors of Elections not only rely upon Election Day officials to assist in administering elections but also the many workers who assist during Early Voting, at call centers, as rovers, and those who work behind the scenes to make the process seamless! While the pool of Election workers may vary depending on each election, Collier County had approximately 700 active Election workers assisting with the Presidential Preference Primary Election.
As the resolution asserts, ‘Freedom is best maintained and nurtured through the democratic process…’ “In Collier County, the democratic process is accomplished by an extraordinary team of committed Election workers and Election staff working together to serve the voters and residents of Collier County,” Edwards added.
