The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (F.S.A.S.E.) will award three $1,200 scholarships to Florida students in 2009. Students majoring in Political Science, Public or Business Administration, Journalism, or Mass Communications, are encouraged to apply. A complete list of guidelines, details, and an application form are attached.
Eligible student applicants must be United States citizens, have been a bonafide resident of Florida for two years preceding the academic year for which the application is made, and a registered Florida voter.
To apply, applicants must have finished at least two years of junior college or undergraduate work and have enough credits for enrollment as a junior. Students must be enrolled or have been accepted as a full-time student in a Florida senior college or university accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Postgraduate or second-degree students are not eligible.
The Collier County Supervisor of Elections Office will review all applications from Collier County students and will schedule interviews with those students meeting ALL requirements. Winning students will be notified in June.
