Collier County, Fla.—October 4, 2021: The Collier County Supervisor of Elections office launched their annual High School Voter Registration Challenge last month offering a hybrid program that allows both virtual and in-person presentations and voter registration drives for high school students.
Since its launch in 2013, the High School Voter Registration Challenge has registered and pre-registered thousands of students helping them prepare for future elections.
To date, participating schools for this year’s contest include First Baptist Academy, Golden Gate High School, Gulf Coast High School, Lely High School and Palmetto Ridge High School. The school with the highest number of registered and pre-registered voters will be recognized by Supervisor of Elections, Jennifer J. Edwards, for their achievement after the challenge ends on October 15.
Registered voters must be US citizens and must be at least 18 years old. Students under 18 are encouraged to pre-register to vote as early as the age of 16. Visit www.CollierVotes.gov to view contest participants and other upcoming outreach events.
