Collier County, Fla.—December 8, 2023: The Collier County Supervisor of Elections office is proud to announce the winning artists of the 2023 Art for Democracy contest:  Yolanda Juarez-Cruz of Lely High School and the East Naples Middle School Art Department whose artist, Briélle Présumé was selected as “Best in Show.”

A call for entries took place between October 2 and November 10 and students were challenged to create a piece of artwork that expressed the meaning of the democratic process. This year, the Supervisor of Elections office received the highest level of participation with 215 art submissions. Among the submitted works of art, 12 winning entries were selected to appear in 2024 election materials including the new “I Voted” sticker for the 2024 Election Cycle which was designed by Alayna Gruber of East Naples Middle School. A winner’s reception will be held on January 25 at the South Regional Library to honor all 12 winning students.

The Supervisor of Elections office collaborated with the Collier County Public School system and Champions For Learning to host the Art for Democracy contest. Awards are provided by Champions For Learning through the Chuck Mohlke Endowment Fund of the Community Foundation of Collier County.
