The Collier County Supervisor of Elections has received official notice from the Secretary of State that Samuel D. Lopez has withdrawn his candidacy for State Representative District 101. As a result of his withdrawal, there will be no Democratic candidates on the Special Primary ballot on October 30. Linda McDonald, as the sole remaining qualified Democrat, will be the Democratic candidate for State Representative District 101.
The Special Primary Election on October 30thwill be limited to the four Republican candidates. The winner will face Linda McDonald in the Special General Election, November 20, 2007. Only Republican voters residing in District 101 are eligible to vote in the Special Primary Election. All voters residing in the district are eligible to vote in the Special General Election.
Republicans may vote early in the Special Primary Election. Early voting will begin October 22 through October 27, 10:00 a.m. – 6: 00 p.m. at the Golden Gate Library,4898 Coronado Parkway, Naples.
AVISO OFICIAL La oficina de la Supervisora de Elecciones del Condado de Collier ha sido informada por el Secretario de Estado que el candidato para el cargo de Representante de la Cámara Estatal por el distrito 101 se ha retirado de la contienda. Como resultado de su retiro, no habrá candidatos por el partido Demócrata en la boleta de primaria del 30 de octubre. Debido a que Linda McDonald es el único candidato calificado, ella será el candidato por el partido Demócrata para el cargo de Representante por el Distrito 101.
La elección especial de primaria del 30 de octubre se llevará a cabo solamente para los candidatos Republicanos. El ganador de esa elección confrontara a la Srta. McDonald en la elección especial general del 20 de noviembre del 2007. Solamente votantes Republicanos que residen en el Distrito 101 podran votar en la elección de primaria especial. Todos los votantes que residen en el distrito podran votar en la elección especial general.
Los votantes Republicanos pueden votar por anticipado en la elección especial de primaria. La votación anticipada comenzará el 22 de octubre hasta el 27 de octubre, de 10:00 a.m. a 6:00 p.m. en la biblioteca de Golden Gate, situada en 4898 Coronado Parkway, Naples.
