Collier County, Fla.—October 2, 2023: The Collier County Supervisor of Elections office is excited to announce their partnership with Collier County Public Schools and Champions For Learning for the 2023 Art for Democracy contest – a unique opportunity for student artists of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate civic engagement through their creative talents.

A $500 scholarship will be awarded to one winning entry submitted by a high school student and a $500 donation will be awarded to the art program at the school with the “Best of Show” entry. Ten additional runner-up entries will be featured in election materials including the new “I Voted” sticker for the 2024 Election Cycle.

The $500 awards are provided by Champions For Learning through the Chuck Mohlke Endowment Fund of the Community Foundation of Collier County.  Mr. Mohlke left a legacy of respect, charity, kindness, and a commitment to civic engagement and a passion for learning.

“The ‘I Voted’ sticker is an iconic symbol of one of our most fundamental rights as Americans,” – Melissa R. Blazier, Supervisor of Elections. “This contest aims to inspire individuals to vote while fostering a sense of unity and pride in our community.”

A call for entries will take place between Monday, October 2 and Friday, November 10. Winning entries will be announced on Tuesday, December 5. For further information, please visit the Collier County Supervisor of Elections website at www.CollierVotes.gov or call (239) 252-VOTE (8683).
