Today is the last day to vote in the General Election
Collier County, FL—November 6, 2012: Today, November 6th is Election Day and the last opportunity to vote in the 2012 General Election. The polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and voters who vote in person must vote at their assigned precinct. Voters in line by 7:00 p.m. will have a chance to vote.
Voters can find their assigned precinct on their voter information card or the CollierVotes.com “Find My Precinct” page, which includes maps and photos of each precinct.
Voters must provide both a photo and signature ID at the polls. If a photo ID does not include a voter’s signature, the voter will be required to provide an additional form of ID that includes the voter’s signature. Voters without proper ID may vote a provisional ballot. Approved forms of ID are:
- Florida driver license,
- DMV issued Florida ID card,
- U.S. Passport,
- debit or credit card,
- military ID,
- student ID,
- retirement center ID,
- neighborhood association ID, or
- public assistance ID.
Completed mail/absentee ballots must be returned to the Elections office by 7:00 p.m. today. Completed ballots may be hand-delivered to the main office in the Collier Government Complex until 7:00 p.m. or to the satellite office at the North Collier Government Services Center (next to Collier County Library Headquarters) until 6:00 p.m.
Mail/absentee ballots will not be counted if turned in at a polling site or any other location. Voters who received an absentee ballot and decide instead to vote in person will be allowed to vote a regular ballot at their precinct.
Voters must have been registered on or before October 9, 2012 to participate in this election.
